John, to the
seven churches which are in Asia:
Grace to you
and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven
Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness,
the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our
sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father,
to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever.
Amen.

Three things are said about Jesus: He is reliable, He always tells the truth; He
has been raised from the dead; and He reigns over all the kings of the earth
(DP)· He is the Faithful Witness – upon His testimony we may safely depend for He cannot be deceived and cannot deceive us (MH)
· As kings, they overcome the world. He has made them priests, given them access to God (MH)
Exodus 3:14 And God
said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He
said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.”
Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, The
Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
Zechariah 3:9 …upon
the stone are seven eyes….
