command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall
come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

promises to keep us spiritually vibrant and protected from sin as well as God’s
judgment in the End-Times.

The hour of trial
was a specific period in the first century in which persecution from the Roman
Empire increased greatly on the known world as a partial application. This
prophetically pointed to the Great Tribulation.
Isaiah 24:17 Fear and the pit and the snare are upon you,
O inhabitant of the earth
Ezekiel 21:13 Because it is a trial, and what if the sword
despises even the scepter? The scepter
shall be no more, says the Lord GOD.
