Then he said to me, “The waters which
you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.
- · The waters which you saw where the harlot sits = continues the angelic interpretation of the harlot’s judgment. (RC)
- · The waters are people, multitudes, nations and tongues. Revelation 17:9 declares that the harlot sits on seven king/kingdoms. Thus, we can say that the harlot is carried by a universal segment of the population of the earth. (RC)
Isaiah 8:7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up
over them the waters of the River, strong and mighty….
Jeremiah 47:2 thus says the LORD: “Behold, waters rise out of the north, and
shall be an overflowing flood; they shall overflow the land and all that is in
it, the city and those who dwell within; then the men shall cry, and all the
inhabitants of the land shall wail.
