Revelation 19:13

He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

• ·        Isa 63:2 is alluded to here, and in Rev 19:15 , end. There the blood is not His own, but that of His foes. So here the blood on His "vesture," reminding us of His own blood shed for even the ungodly who trample on it, is a premonition of the shedding of their blood in righteous retribution. He sheds the blood, not of the godly, as the harlot and beast did, but of the blood-stained ungodly, including them both  (JFB)

• ·        The Word of God--who made the world, is He also who under the same character and attributes shall make it anew. His title, Son of God, is applicable in a lower sense, also to His people; but "the Word of God" indicates His incommunicable Godhead, joined to His manhood, which He shall then manifest in glory. Isaiah 63:2  Why is Your apparel red, and Your garments like one who treads in the winepress?

Proverbs 30:5  Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

Revelation 19:12

His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns.  He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.

• ·        He has a large and extensive dominion, many crowns.  (MH)

• ·        The last time this earth saw Jesus He wore a crown of thorns, but not in Revelation 19. Now, He wears many crowns. The ancient Greek word used for crowns here is the diadema, the crown of royalty and authority, not the stephanos, the crown of achievement. (DG)

Daniel 10:6 His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like torches of fire, his arms and feet like burnished bronze in color, and the sound of his words like the voice of a multitude.

Psalm 132:18  His enemies I will clothe with shame, but upon Himself His crown shall flourish.

Revelation 19:11

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse.  And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.

• ·        When Jesus comes, He comes on a white horse. In Biblical times, especially among Israel, most soldiers were foot soldiers. To have a horse in battle was a significant advantage. A horse spoke of honor, of power, and of speed; the color of this horse speaks of victory.   (DG)

• ·        Faithful and True: This glorious title shows Jesus is the keeper of promises, including His promises of judgment.   (DG)

• ·        He is righteous in all His proceedings (MH)

Psalm 72:2  He will judge Your people with righteousness, and Your poor with justice.

Isaiah 11:4  But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
